SUPPORT INDEPENDENT JOURNALISM

HELP US, SCORE BIG.

Before we get to the comps - why not consider supporting SWITCH? Your contribution earns you automatic entries into every single giveaway, among many other perks - and with tiers starting at the cost of a coffee (or tea, if that's more your thing) a month, it's an easy way to support independent journalism and help yourself at the same time! We've now even added a personalised mug as a gift for most levels. Head on over to patreon.com/maketheswitchAU to look through the perks we're offering - or for those looking for a little less commitment, SWITCH has also joined Ko-fi, so you can now show your support to our team of volunteers for the one-time cost by visiting ko-fi.com/maketheswitchAU.
'HEAD SOUTH'

PLAYING THE PART.

On to the comps - and wrapping up today is our giveaway for 'Head South'. The film is a touching, bittersweet coming-of-age comedy set in New Zealand in 1979, about a naive teenager who, without any musical experience, plans a gig for his (not yet existing) post-punk band at the local rock music venue. Alone for a fortnight with his world-weary father who is going through his own crisis of identity, Angus navigates self-doubt, derision, harmful behaviour and a family tragedy to take the stage for the first time. Click here now to win one of five double passes to see 'Head South' in cinemas, but don't delay - entries close tonight.
'DEATH OF A UNICORN'

PAYBACK IS A BEAST.

Also wrapping up today is our giveaway for 'Death of a Unicorn'. A father (Paul Rudd) and daughter (Jenny Ortega) accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while en route to a weekend retreat, where his billionaire boss (Richard E. Grant) seeks to exploit the creature’s miraculous curative properties. To win one of five double passes to see 'Death of a Unicorn' in cinemas, click here now - but don't wait, as entries close this evening.
'WARFARE'

A STORY OF COMBAT TOLD BY THOSE WHO LIVED IT.

Brand new today is our giveaway for 'Warfare'. Written and directed by Iraq War veteran Ray Mendoza and Alex Garland ('Civil War', '28 Days Later'), 'Warfare' embeds audiences with a platoon of American Navy SEALs on a surveillance mission gone wrong in insurgent territory. A visceral, boots-on-the-ground story of modern warfare and brotherhood, told like never before: in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it. Featuring an ensemble of next-gen leading men including Will Poulter, D’Pharoah Woon-A-Tai, Cosmo Jarvis, Joseph Quinn, Kit Connor, whose chemistry mirrors the camaraderie on screen, 'Warfare' captures the raw, emotional intensity of combat like never before. Click here now to win one of ten double passes to see 'Warfare' in cinemas.
'KICK-ASS'

A LOVE LETTER TO HEROES.

15 years ago, 'Kick-Ass' controversially fought its way onto the big screen - but this crude cult classic has been able to breathe and grow to become the superhero film it is today: an influential love letter to heroes. Fly into our retrospective review of 'Kick-Ass' and relive its refreshing take on the superhero genre.
DAVID WENHAM & JONATHAN TEPLITZKY INTERVIEW

RETURN OF AN AUSSIE ICON.

More than 20 years after 'Gettin' Square's' Johnny Spitieri first made his mark on the big screen, Spit is back! Connor sat down with David Wenham and director Jonathan Teplitzky to speak about becoming older, probing grief, and not attempting a direct continuation. Click here now to watch as Connor, David Wenham and Jonathan Teplitzky shoot the breeze on 'Spit'.
